Grant Johnsey is responsible for delivering capital market solutions and insights to institutional clients at Northern Trust.  He works with a wide array of clients, including asset owners and investment managers, and he covers the full spectrum of global public markets.  Grant has over 25 years of markets experience, primarily spent working on global trading desks.  A former equity trader himself, Grant also was responsible for managing the equity, fixed income, and options trading and sales desks at Northern Trust for over 10 years.  Before assuming his current market strategist role, Grant led the outsourced trading desk in the Americas.

 

When speaking with investors and clients, Grant leverages historical trends, sentiment shifts, and statistical probabilities to explain and frame market conditions.  Through his client discussions, Grant attains a sense of how savvy institutional investors are approaching markets.  To understand secular shifts, especially as they impact financial markets, Grant also follows geopolitical and global macro trends.

 

Grant joined Northern Trust in 2004.  Prior to joining, Grant oversaw the program trading and transition management business at Capital Institutional Services, working on both their London and Dallas trading desks.
